Where there is research, there is hope. The American Lung Association has researchers who remain on the cutting edge of discoveries that could lead to a cure for lung disease. We support researchers early in their careers to attract and retain talented scientists who remain dedicated to lung research. Our researchers strive to find ways to reverse, treat, prevent and find cures for all lung diseases.
The American Lung Association Research Program is comprised of three distinct programs – the Awards and Grants Program, the Asthma Clinical Research Centers Network (ACRC), and the Epidemiology and Statistics Program.
In addition to supporting our own research program, the American Lung Association aggressively advocates to increase America's investment in lifesaving research. We are pushing to increase funding at the National Institutes of Health to help find cures for lung cancer, COPD, asthma and all lung diseases.
Now, more than ever, we find ourselves on the precipice of limitless medical discoveries – each one leading us closer to a day when we will be able to reverse, treat, prevent and ultimately find cures for all suffering from lung disease.
